These figures are heavy Emishi foot archers, they had a reputation for being fierce warriors ready to charge in hand to hand combat as well as archers, and these wear suitable armour and weapons for the job! They represent elite warriors from the areas closer to Yamato Japan and are best suited for the later period, as General's guard irregular Bw(S), as dismounted horse archers irregular Bw(O) and cam also be mixed in for variety with irregular Bw(I). They are primarily intended to be used in DBM list 6 book III Emishi 500AD - 1100AD, list 7 Book III Pre-Samurai Japanese 500AD - 900AD or as allies for list 54 Book III Early Samurai 900AD - 1300AD
The Emishi were the original inhabitants of the northern Japanese islands.
